Clinical relevance of pulmonary toxicity in adjuvant breast cancer irradiation.
- Authors
Lind, Pehr
- Abstract
The article comments on a study on the relation of postoperative radiation therapy (RT)-related lung density changes to clinical symptoms. Researchers pointed out that radiological signs of damage is not accompanied by respiratory symptoms after breast cancer RT. The author argued that the conclusion drawn by the researchers on RT side-effects needs further investigation. He added that pulmonary and cardiac toxicity after RT in breast cancer patients is a complicated issue.
