- Abstract
This article describes the "bozal spanish" (SCHWEGLER, 2003) spoken in a specific Bantu ritual religion from a black-african origin (Palo Monte, or Regla Conga), focusing on two central categories: oral language and traces of languages in contact. It consists in the description of data collected in several years of continuous field research in Cuba (Havana City, Cienfuegos and Pinar del Rio Provinces). and represents a contribution to the study of languages in contact, more precisely, to the comprehension of the ritual languages and their contact with Spanish.
