- Abstract
The article presents a long-term follow-up study on sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) in node-negative breast cancer. It demonstrated that, following a median follow-up of 6 to 5 years, the axillary recurrence rate after negative SLNB was substantially higher than previously reported and the recurrence is a continuum. It accounts the misconception that most recurrences will appear within the first few years of diagnosis.
