- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the isolation of a highly active cytotoxic compound from dodder using marine cancer cells as the test culture. It mentions that glycoside-type antitumor compounds were in the extract of Chinese dodder (Cuscuta chinensis). It discusses the methods used such as using dodder extracts and testing of cytotoxicity of fractions. It reveals that HPLC-3 fraction when combined with appropriate antibodies can formulate antitumor agents against cancer cells.
