- Abstract
The article focuses on the issue of interferon (IFN) therapy for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection with Down syndrome (DS) in patients. It discusses the patients receiving pegylated-interferon/ribavirin (PEG-IFN/RBV) combination therapy which resulted in high treatment efficacy in children and no remarkable side-effects seen in adults. It also mentions newly developed treatments with IFN-free therapy, where as Down syndrome (DS) patients treated with oral anticonvulsants.
