- Abstract
The article explores the connections between interspecies relationships and the socially-constructed human categories of race, gender and nation within the cultures of dog fighting and dog rescue work. Particular focus is given to debates surrounding the dogs known as pit bulls. Topics discussed include intersectionality, breed-specific legislation, and football player and convicted dogfighter Michael Vick.
