- Abstract
Evaluates the use of single-injection method for accurately estimating whole-kidney glomerular infiltration rate (GFR) during complete ureteral obstruction (UO). Absence of substantial overall change in GFR during the 24-hour period of UO; Tendency of the depression of GFR during UO to be mediated by a combination of several different mechanisms, including an increase in hydrostatic pressure in the urinary space and decrease in the hydraulic permeability of the glomerular capillary; Potential application of the single-injection method in other experimental models in which anuria or severe oliguria might interfere with the use of standard clearance methods.
