- Abstract
The article discusses the study on the association of gender and partner abandonment in medically ill patients. It states that severe sickness contributes to the dissolution of the patient's family such as divorce or marital discord. According to the study, separated patients less participate in clinical trials and have greater use of antidepressants compared with patients with intact relationship. It finds out that female gender can be strong predictor partner abandonment.
