- Abstract
The article discusses the association between prostate-specific antigen (PSA) velocity and prostate cancer detection based on a study conducted in the U.S. The study performed multivariable logistic regression analyses to identify the factors associated with prostate cancer detection and grade. It found that an accelerating PSA velocity was associated with Gleason scores from 7 to 10. It concludes that PSA velocity improved the detection of high-grade cancer in men who had PSA levels of >4 ng/mL.
