- Abstract
The article presents a study which evaluated different antibody-based tests for detecting Canine parvovirus antigens in feces. A comparison of the commercial tests was done through immune-electron microsocopy (IEM) and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The study concludes that parvovirus infection in animals with typical clinical signs cannot be ruled out despite the availability of rapid tests for canine parvovirus enteritis. In relation to this, positive PCR has been found in healthy dogs and dogs with diarrhea.
