- Abstract
The article reports that cement manufacturer Holcim has bought the Australian operations of Cemex for $1.6 billion in 2009. The sale includes ready-mix concrete plants and aggregates quarries in Australia and a 25% stake of Cemex in Cement Australia. It is stated that the deal will have to receive regulatory approval and undergo a due diligence process, with results expected by the end of 2009.
