- Abstract
The article reports that with global biodiversity in decline calls have been made for the use of the best scientific data in conserving threatened or endangered species and the ecosystems upon which they depend. Topics include examines given the inherent difficulties related to the study of rare and/or elusive species, anecdotal data have occasionally been used to better understand a species' life history and to aid in defining management and conservation priorities.
