- Title
ARCHITECTURE AS ELEMENTAL SHELTER, THE CITY AS VALID DECON.
- Authors
Venturi, Robert; Brown, Denise Scott
- Abstract
The article presents the views of architects Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown on their contribution to architectural theory. In their books, "Complexity and Contradiction in Architecture" and "Learning from Las Vegas," they have dealt with two discussions: the lessons of mass culture, and semiotics, the theory of signs. Both are important in considering the meaning of architecture.
