Los efectos transversales de la normalización: los debates sobre la Ley 13/2005.

- Abstract
This essay reviews from the perspective of cultural criticism the debates regarding the Ley 13/2005 that ratifies marriage between persons of the same sex in Spain. This perspective is necessary, since the legal battle still unresolved about the constitutionality of the reform was a matter of textual interpretation of the Constitution of 1978. Furthermore, though conceived as a form of social "normalization" of a marginalized minority, the impact of the law has multiple ramifications that affect not only the model of marriage, but also crucial aspects like the international image of the country and the geopolitical position of Spain. The critical revision of these transverse effects makes it also necessary from the point of view of the LGBT community itself, from which dissenting voices are questioning the negative effects of this "normalization".
