- Authors
Arya, Vikram; Robertson, Sarah M.; Struble, Kimberly A.; Murray, Jeffrey S.
- Abstract
The article discusses various scientific considerations for pharmacoenhancers in antiretroviral therapy (ART). Topics include an overview of protease inhibitors (PI), which are an integral component of highly active ART, a historical perspective of PIs, such as ritonavir, and limitations associated with the use of ritonavir as a pharmacoenhancer. Scientific considerations include the identification of appropriate doses of pharmacoenhancer and drug-drug interactions.
