- Title
Detection of Transient Responses in Adult Heart Rate.

- Abstract
The computer software program CHANT is designed to detect transient changes in time series data, such as point-to-point heart rate. It can operate on a single, short run of data, say 10 or 15 points prestimulus, and then uses this data to predict points in the poststimulus region. Predictions are compared to the data observed and the differences may be standardized with respect to the prestimulus residual error variance, allowing comparisons between responses. The program uses the model formed on the prestimulus data to predict the first poststimulus point, and compares the predicted value with that observed.
