- Title
On the Creation of a New Legal Regime to Try Sea Pirates.
- Authors
Dubner, Barry Hart; Greene, Karen
- Abstract
The article discusses the adequacy of international regimes to repel maritime crime and the problems of the international community to enforce law in connection with sea piracy. It further discusses other crimes at sea such as inter alia human trafficking, environmental problems and the treatment of refugees at seas. It encourages the United Nations to make the existence of equipment used for piracy as prima facie evidence of piratical intent and create an ad hoc tribunal obliged to redress piracy who should be physically located on ship out on circuit.
