- Abstract
This article, titled "Association between deep endometriosis and clinical symptoms," explores the relationship between deep endometriosis and the symptoms reported by patients. The study was conducted at a University Hospital using ultrasound data collected between 2016 and 2023. The results showed that 40% of the 630 patients evaluated had deep endometriosis, with 88% of them having involvement of the posterior compartment and 12% having involvement of the anterior compartment. Symptoms reported by the patients included pelvic pain, dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, heavy menstrual bleeding, irregular cycles, infertility, and cystitis. The study found a statistically significant association between the presence of heavy menstrual bleeding, irregular cycles, infertility, and cystitis with ultrasound findings suggestive of deep endometriosis.
