- Abstract
This article, titled "OC12.03: Ultrasonographic signs for diagnosing adnexal torsion," discusses the importance of early identification of ultrasound signs of adnexal torsion in women with pelvic pain. The study evaluated the ultrasound characteristics of adnexal torsion in 89 patients who had undergone preoperative ultrasound examination. The most common ultrasound signs of adnexal torsion were the presence of adnexal mass and ovarian stromal edema. The study concludes that knowledge of these features can lead to the correct diagnosis and treatment of ovarian torsion.
