- Abstract
Arthur Schopenhauer is present in the development of Nietzsche's philosophy. So much so that in his writings, Nietzsche pays him homage by praising his originality and examines some aspects of Schopenhauer's work that support the formulation of his criticism of culture. This article indicates some elements of this influence, bringing up the Eternal Return theory as Nietzsche's answer to Schopenhauer's pessimism, indicating some implications of the Eternal Return to contemporary thinking.
