- Abstract
This article discusses influential factors of cognitive and motivational self-serving biases in skiers. Motivational factors attribute to the ego side of success and failure and cognitive factors deal less with the ego. The study formed a survey that discussed which factors had an influence on the performance of skiers including influence ability, effort, task difficulty, and luck. The study was published in an article called "Ego-involvement and attributions for success and failure in a field setting," in the 1984 issue of "Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin."
