- Abstract
The article discusses research which examines the metal storage capacity of crystal structure of class III chitinase enzyme isolated from pomegranate. Topics discussed include hydrolysis of β-1,4-glycosidic bond in chitin from chitinase, identification of class III chitinase which functions as a calcium storage protein in pomegranate (Punica granatum) seed, and analsyis of metal association property of pomegranate seed chitinase (PSC).
