- Abstract
This article presents information related to the poems of Gerard Hopkins. Probably only eleven of his poems were published during the lifetime of Gerard Hopkins. In the period between his death in 1889 and 1918 another twenty-two or so were printed, usually in obscure journals and anthologies. None of the first eleven poems are considered major poems today. Two are juvenilia, one is a short occasional piece written for a bishop's silver jubilee, three are triolets in a school magazine, another is a stilted modern English version of the Middle English hymn associated with Nicholas in Chaucer's Miller's Tale.
