- Abstract
In this article the authors discuss health problems which can occur in premature infants, including kidney disease and rickets, and on the role that vitamin D can play in improving the health of premature infants. They are supportive of using vitamin D and signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 in premature infants with risk of acute kidney injury and the prevention of chronic kidney disease in such infants.
