- Abstract
No significant differences were encountered in the results obtained in the carbenicillin resistant and carbenicillin sensitive groups, nor in the nine aminoglycoside resistant strains. In general, combinations containing mezlocillin were more active than those with cefotaxime and cefsulodin. Minimal synergy was obtained with combinations of azlocillin. Of the aminoglycosides sissomicin showed more synergy in all combinations. The most synergistic combination was sissomicin + mezlocillin with 90% synergy. Indifference ranged between 10 and 20%. Antagonism was detected in less than 10% of the cases.
