- Abstract
The expansion of knowledge in the area of Information and Communication Technology - ICT, its use and accessibility have transformed the way human beings relate to each other. In education it is no different, although with some resistance, schools and teachers were encouraged to include ICTs in the teaching and learning process during remote teaching. Therefore, the present research aimed to identify the advantages and challenges faced by teachers and students in the use of technological tools, as mediators of educational practices during remote classes, in Elementary School II. The methodology of the article was based on a qualitative-quantitative approach, with the participation of 20 teachers and 32 students, who answered questions related to the use of technologies to carry out remote activities, through the form generated in the Google Forms tool. After analyzing the questions, it was noticed that the teachers consider the experience with digital resources important in the educational context, as for the students, the technologies involve them, although most had only the cell phone as the only accessible technological resource. In addition, both teachers and students reported instability with internet access as a hindrance to the development of classes and student performance. The research also highlighted that there are many challenges to be overcome for the effective integration of ICTs into pedagogical processes. Notably, the need to monitor the insertion of ICTs in schools, not only of how the access to these new technologies by the subjects that make up the school is being, but also being used.
