- Abstract
The agricultural sector is considered one of the most important pillars of the national economic structure, as it falls on the responsibility of providing the food, clothing and manufacturing needs of the community, in addition to its contribution to economic development by increasing the national product through reducing imports and increasing exports. This amounted to about 500.6 million pounds in 2018 With a rate of about 19.2% of the value of the gross national product and absorbing a labor estimated at about 26% of the total volume of the Egyptian workforce, representing about 17% of the value of the gross national product. The research problem is mainly limited to the fact that the production capacity of red meat in Egypt has become unable to meet the consumption energy, which has led to an increase in its local prices on the one hand, and reliance on importing it of all kinds, whether in the form of live animals or in the form of frozen meat or meat preserved from On the other hand, which in turn constitutes an increasing pressure on the Egyptian balance of payments, as the amount of meat imports is about 383.80 thousand tons per year during the average period (2006-2018), which requires the need to know the reasons that lead to the reluctance of many holders or breeders to engage in activity. Meat animal husbandry (fattening). The study deals with 7 elements that have been studied First: The economic importance of agricultural production at the level of the Republic during the period (2006-2018) Second: The evolution of the number of animals producing red meat at the level of the Republic during the period (2006-2018) Third: The evolution of the numbers of animals producing red meat at the level of Sohag Governorate during the period (2006-2018) Fourth: Evolution of the production and consumption of red meat at the level of Sohag Governorate during the period from (2009-2018): Fifth: The financial evaluation of the animal production projects in Sohag Governorate: Sixth: The Standard Estimation of Red Meat Production Functions Among the Study Sample Categories in Sohag Governorate: Seventh: Problems of red meat production in Sohag Governorate The study recommends thefollowing: 1 -Cooperative work of the livestock, taking into account that all episodes available from production(educators and marketers and distributors and veterinarians moderators). 2 – Development of local breeds and the introduction of new strains while retaining the purity of local breeds. 3 – I do not mind of cooperation with African countries to import calves at affordable prices forjam. 4-Create fattening farms and plantations mothers only intended for animal production. 5 – Improving veterinary service and provision of the necessary vaccines against viruses and diseases. 6 – To give a chance to the borrower as a grace period before repayment of the loan, and installment loan payments in several years, and is not paid at once. 7- To revive the draft old vealcum is essential in solving the problems of meat. 8-Expansion in the cultivation off odder in there claimed land, the work of a new feed to provide alternative feed at cheap prices. 9 - To prevent monopolistic practices. 10 - Attention to scientific research in this area with the need to apply what is reached from the results.
