- Abstract
Given the current situation faced by Mexico, the competitiveness framework demands a high degree of reinforcement for the training of its human resources, in order to face the economic and globalization aspects allowing the industry to remain within the sphere of competences. Because companies struggle to improve their production processes to achieve customer satisfaction, the need to find alternatives to achieve their goals has increased, one of which is to train their staff. The detection of training needs (DNC) allows to identify existing weaknesses in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes that staff must acquire, reaffirm and update to satisfactorily perform the tasks or functions of their position, in order to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the company PINTO (1997: 200). This allows carrying out an analysis in which the real situation of the company is obtained. Based on this analysis, a series of decisions are taken to select the best alternatives based on the company's resources and infrastructure and the offer of training services. The present study focuses on identifying within the SMEs in Poza Rica, Veracruz, the state of training in which they are and how they use it as a primary factor for the promotion and improvement of the company, a quantitative method is used; cross-sectional and field, using as a technique the interview and as a tool a questionnaire.
