- Abstract
The article discusses the initiative of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in intensively working with local communities to address the problems of chronic diseases in the U.S. It states that communities need resources and technical assistance to achieve success in health equity. Accordingly, CDC finds that communities can achieve health equity with local investments, an accessible venue for local action, mobilized networks for change, and tools for health promotion.
