- Title
Modernizing Advanced Degree Programs.
- Authors
Behnke, John A.
- Abstract
The article presents the author's views on graduate programs in biology, offered in the universities of the U.S., meeting the needs of future professional biologists for research or teaching. He says that scientists should play the dual objectives of communicating better about their fields to laymen by disseminating and interpreting information to them. He believes that modern biology demands a broader, in-depth, interdisciplinary background than what many graduate students are getting.
