The Recommended Dietary Allowance of Protein.
- Authors
Wolfe, Robert R.; Miller, Sharon L.
- Abstract
The authors comments on the methods used by the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine to produce their Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) report, which forms the basis for recommended dietary allowance (RDA) and influences daily nutritional practices. Particular attention is paid to estimates based on nitrogen balance for protein intake and the use of a younger age group to determine the levels needed to avoid protein deficiency.
