- Abstract
The article focuses on findings of research on vitamin D deficiency done by researchers with the Framingham Heart Study. The research found that vitamin D deficiency is associated with a greater risk of developing cardiovascular disease for those people with hypertension. A discussion of additional research on vitamin D which suggested that the vitamin plays a role in nearly every aspect of human health and that a vitamin D deficiency is related to several diseases, including cancer and osteoporosis, is presented.
