- Abstract
The simplest approach for a successful treatment for mandibular complete edentoulism is to adequately extend the denture base for proper use of all available supporting tissues. The ridge borders limiting the floor of the mouth are relatively mobile and give a perception of an unstable area for a less clinical experienced dentist. Thus result improper impressions and, as consequence, improper length of lingual flanges. If the denture borders ends on the support structures, it is impossible to obtain a peripheral seal. An experienced dentist can appreciate the real borders of the functional anatomy of the denture surrouding structures, as premise of a mandibular successful complete denture.
