- Abstract
Introduction: The most common differential diagnoses of benign anterior neck mass are thyroid lesion, thyroglossal cyst, lymph nodes enlargement and dermoid cyst. Among all of neck masses, thyroid lesion either diffuse or multinodular carries majority of the cases. One of rare differential diagnosis of anterior neck mass is lipoma. Method: Case report. Result: In view of its rarity, anterior neck lipoma is hardly reported. Here, we report a case of anterior neck lipoma which mimic thyroid mass. Imaging showed features of anterior neck lipoma and subsequently the diagnosis was confirmed by pathological examination. He was successfully managed by surgical excision of the mass. Conclusion: Combination of history, physical examination, imaging and pathological examination are important in establishing a differential diagnosis of anterior neck mass.
