- Abstract
The article describes the final seconds of a laboratory mouse's life after being gassed with carbon dioxide. Scientists believe that a manual maneuver called cervical dislocation that breaks the animal's neck might be better to use. The use of mice is increasing due to transgenic models. The 2000 report of the American Veterinary Medical Association Panel on Euthanasia must be followed by researchers using federal funds in the U.S.
