- Abstract
A biography of professor George Washington Litton is presented. He was born on February 22, 1910 in Lee County, close to Pennington Gap in Virginia. He attained the degrees of Bachelor of Science (BS) in 1931 and Master of Science (MS) in 1940 in animal husbandry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI). He was married to Maria Boren with two children. He became the extension sheep specialist in 1942 and made various achievements in livestock industry and in the animal science profession.
