- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which compared the two-years postoperative outcomes following endovascular and open repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). The study used 881 veterans with eligible AAA, from 42 Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, who were candidates for elective endovascular repair and open repair between October 15 2002 and October 18, 2008. No significant difference in mortality, morbidity, procedure failure, hospitalization due to aneurysm and health-related quality of life were noted between patients who underwent elective endovascular repair and open repair.
