- Title
Certification Examination for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Educators: Preliminary Survey Findings.
- Authors
Clark, Kevin R.; Roman, Tiffany
- Abstract
This survey research project explored the feasibility of a certification examination for medical imaging and radiation therapy educators. Preliminary results showed that most educators found value in offering a certification examination specific to radiologic science education, and more than 62% would pursue certification if an examination were available. Educators with fewer years of teaching experience were significantly more likely to pursue certification (p < .001). A process of establishing a certification examination and credential for medical imaging and radiation therapy educators should be considered to elevate the practice of radiologic science education to a formal specialty area and support novice educators.
