- Abstract
The present study highlights the water quality of groundwater and associated health risks with the consumption in various parts of district Raebareli. The water quality at 16% of the total sampling sites was found to be under the 'highly polluted' category with high values of Total Hazard Index (THI). The values of fluoride exceeded the permissible limits at44% of the sites. A good correlation of fluoride with WPI and magnesium was seen in the study, with the impact of mild weathering of biotite as a potential cause. The severe health risks found in the study area raise an urgent need for remedial actions and authoritarian interventions.
