- Abstract
The research is aimed at self assessing the quality of life and work of nurses in the Health Centre Zagreb - Centre and determining the differences in the quality of life and work of nurses during the current pandemic of the coronavirus disease compared to the prior period. The research was conducted on a sample of 113 nurses working in the Health Centre Zagreb - Centre. The research was conducted using three questionnaires: the Work Ability Index (WAI), the World Health Organization Quality of Life questionnaire (WHOQOL-BREF) and a questionnaire on working capacity and quality of life during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results showed that the majority of nurses (84%) live a busy private life, while less than half of the respondents (46%) live a busy professional life. More than 80% of nurses state that in most cases they are quite often active, and none of the respondents is completely inactive. An insufficient number of workers, lawsuits and litigation threats, are the biggest stressors for nurses in the workplace. On the whole, a comparison of the quality of life of the respondents during the pandemic shows deviations in the increased stress and the feeling of health threats, but there are no changes in physical activity and interpersonal relationships.
