- Abstract
In this paper, we study numerically the influence of aggressive driving on the properties of the stochastic Nagel-Schreckenberg model, such as the traffic flow and the probability of car accidents. Hence, we find that these properties depend enormously on both the densityand the fractionfof aggressive drivers. In addition, by studying the spatio-temporal organization of the vehicles, we show that at very low density, the traffic state transits from “ordinary” free traffic to “queueing” phase when we increase the fractionf. At relatively high density, the transition from congested traffic to queueing phase may also occur.
