- Abstract
The article presents a study which examined the use of computational fluid dynamics in simulating the hydrodynamic functionality of vertical axis turbines. It suggests the adoption of a strut correction factor which could help marine renewable energy companies come up with accurate forecast of hydrodynamic flow properties. The researchers also mention that boosting the forecast of vertical axis turbine performance could enhance the durability of turbines.
