- Title
Potential Hazards of Adding Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs to Antithrombotic Therapy After Myocardial Infarction.
- Authors
Campbell, Charles L.; Moliterno, David J.
- Abstract
The authors reflect on the possible risk of the addition of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) to antithrombotic therapy following myocardial infarction. They claim that NSAIDs work by blocking prostaglandin and prostacyclin biosynthesis through their inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes. They present the study by Schjerning Olsen and colleagues on the effect of NSAID to antithrombotic therapy after myocardial infarction.
