- Abstract
The article discusses citizenship issues involving residents of the U.S. territory of American Samoa by citing the case Fitisemanu v. U.S., in which three American Samoans living in Utah challenged their classification as nationals in the federal 10th Circuit court. Other topics include the decision by the American Samoan government (ASG) to keep the national status, and the main pillars of Fa'a Samoa (the Samoan Way), namely, the communal land system and the matai title system.
