- Abstract
The Experimental Modal Analysis (EMA) test contributes majorly to determine the vibrations of electrical machines. The hammer test is the common EMA procedure to find the precise location of looseness in windings. The EMA is carried out on stator end winding structure to obtain the modal parameters for validation with a theoretical and numerical model. The Operational Deflection Shape from EMA confirms the exact deformation of the windings. In this article, EMA is performed on the driving end and non-driving end windings of the induction machine to identify the looseness of the seventy-two stator slot structure. The Finite Element Method and theoretical calculations have been compared for verification with the proposed technique.
