- Abstract
The article discusses crimes involving the harvesting of organs from murder victims in Europe and examines historical events that also provide details on the removal of organs for medical use. It discusses the disappearance of Parisian children in the mid-18th century and similar allegations against the British from hillmen of India during the 19th century. Additionally, the article discusses the 1828 case involving the murders committed by Brendan Burke and William Hare who sold their victims to the surgeon Robert Knox.
