- Abstract
The article report on chronic actinic cheilitis and cancer of the lower lip. Epithelioma of the lower lip is a exceptionally severe form of cancer owing to the malignant course it follows whenever it is not detected and treated in time. Epithelioma of the lower lip is associated in 50% of cases with involvement of the regional lymph nodes and, when not untreated, is fatal within about 2 years following its appearance. This type of cancer accounts for about 10-20% of all carcinomas of the skin and adjacent mucous membranes.
