- Abstract
The article discusses the study on the prognostic effect of calreticulin (CALR) mutations in patients with myelofibrosis after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. It notes a separate trial suggesting lower white blood cell counts and higher platelet counts in patients with CALR mutated primary myelofibrosis as compared with JAK2 tyrosine kinase. It also mentions the somatic frameshift mutations of CALR identified in a large proportion of JAK2 and essential thrombocythemia.
