- Abstract
The article presents a study which compares videonasendoscopy (VNE), lateral videofluoroscopy (LVF), and perceptual speech examination for evaluating velapharyngeal dysfunction (VPD). The study evaluates closure, speech imaging, and speech components like hypernasal resonance and facial grimace of patients who undergone VNE, LVF, and speech examinations. Result shows closure to moderately influence overall speech severity, while hypernasal resonance is found to have stronger correlation.
