- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights on the concept of environmentally sustainable economic development in the U.S. and the laws in the country that regulates the said development. The author offers an overview of the origin, meaning, and misconceptions of the people of the words "development," "economic development," and "sustainability," and "sustainable development." He also explores the direct translation of the word "development" to the country, which he considers problematic. Moreover, he discusses several economic development laws in the country which maintains sustainable development in the U.S., which he believed has important role to play in country's economy.
